Hi Everyone!

My apologies for the delay in updating my blog.  Things have been a little hectic here!

I have now been in Dubai for coming on 6 weeks, and I am starting to get settled. 

I have been working the longest hours of my working career, but really enjoying what I am doing so it isn’t too bad!  It is different and I am learning, but I think I am going to love it once I have sorted through everything.  The people I work with are absolutely lovely (no office meanie that I have noticed!) and have been really kind and helpful.  They have asked me out to things and helped me find my way around, and been super supportive for the mini-breakdowns that I have been through!  Nothing serious… just homesickness and being overwhelmed in the first real city I have ever lived in. 

This is no Bermuda by any stretch of the imagination!!

I have found myself an apartment and moved in last weekend.  I love it.  It is close to M and G, and the girls I work with – literally the next door building to one of them!  It’s not the newest building in the world, and could do with a bit of tarting up, but the apartment I am in is lovely!  It is fully furnished and tastefully decorated.  Some of the paintings are not my thing, but I don’t sit looking at them so it isn’t a huge bother.  I have bought all new bedding and have added a couple of little touches here and there.  I do have more plans for accessorising, and I need to get my kitchen back up to standard, but that is just a matter of time!

I love sitting out there in the evenings and watching the world go by.  It’s fairly quiet, and you can watch the dhow’s and other boats sail/drive(/whatever!) up or down to the marina.  Completely relaxing!  I sat out there the other evening and watched the fireworks.  So many and so pretty!!!

Will update on my experiences shortly.  I haven’t done as much adventuring as I did in the first few weeks due to the whole working and moving thing, but there is still my musings I can fill you in with!!!

So, that’s pretty much it for the moment…  I am off to bed for an early night! I lead such an exciting life now… not!!
