Mezza House (http://www.mezzahouse.com/) is located in the Al Manzil District of Downtown Dubai. The restaurant hosts dishes from Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan, which come under the title of Levant Cuisine. I am a big fan!!
This time (because this will be a staple in my diet going forward), we ordered:
9 Skewer Platter
The platter consists of 3 chicken tawouk skewers, 3 veal skewers and 3 lamb kafta, and comes with french fries and garlic mayo stuff which I can’t remember the name for. What can I say?! I really liked all of them! I think overall I would prefer lamb or beef over veal, but it was nice all the same. All cooked to perfection.
Hommos
Hands down one of the nicest I have had, ever. Creamy and smooth, and all the flavours blended perfectly so nothing stands out. It’s a delicate balance, and one they have got absolutely spot on. It also comes with fresh made bread which is baked to order. Delicious!
Fattoush
Again, my hands down favourite version of this dish. The salad is standard-ish, but its the dressing that makes it. Its lemony and it has pomegranate molasses in it, and its sprinkled with pomegranate seeds for presentation, but I eat them all first! Seriously has to be tried to be believed!
Extra portion of French Fries
Because meat needs chips, and we are English!!!
Overall, this is one of the nicest “Arabic” dinners I have ever had in this region. I am very happy that I live walking distance away, and will be returning… repeatedly. I am also very happy to see that they deliver for days when I may have over indulged in sparkling grape beverages the night before!!
