Col’Cacchio, Monte Casino, Johannesburg

For those of you that haven’t worked it out yet, I am a bit of a creature of habit.  If I like stuff, I go back.  Repeatedly.

Col’Cacchio is one of my return places.  Next year however it’s going to be at the beginning of the trip, and not the day I am flying home!

My best friend in the whole wide world!

Having skipped breakfast, we headed down to Monte’s for my favourite pizza and salad combo.  It’s quite simple… gluten free pizza with as much pork on as you can, topped with a double dose of mozzarella, and served with a side of chicken and bacon caesar salad.  It may take me a couple of hours to eat it all, but I really do enjoy every bite!

The nicest Caesar Salad!
The best gluten free pizza I have had, ever!  Literally!  In the world!

It’s set up on the corner of the plaza, which this year had the Christmas market on which provided us hours (literally) of people watching entertainment.  That, and also the Christmas movies playing on the big screen.

Shame it wasn’t the Muppets, but it was festive all the same!
See… stilt lady was part of the entertainment!

As it was lunch time, we naturally decided that a glass of wine and a tequila was a great starter.  I think it took another glass of wine and another tequila to make the decision to open the menu.  And then maybe another glass and a B52 to order.  I have to say, it all gets a bit fuzzy from there though.

I have photos though!  I also had the most hideous hangover on the plane!

Good friends take the rough (tequila) with the smooth (B52)!!!

It was the most fun though, and despite the fuzzy and the hangover, I cannot wait to do it all over again next year with my best and oldest friend… just as soon as I arrive!!

Deal, we will start at Col’Cacchio’s… It really was epic, almost as good as our visit to Rip Curl in Southbroom, we at least remember more, or rather I do!!!

    1. Hehe! It is going up there on the wall of fame, for sure! Xxx
